I've been waiting like most of Red Sox Nation for news during Spring Training as to Mike Lowell's status. As the song says, do I stay or do I go?
It's like a black hole surrounds Lowell with no one wanting to make a comment. Everyone is waiting & watching. With one week left to Spring Training you would think something would have happened by now. But no word yet.
I mentioned on the podcast that I hoped Lowell would stay with the team - as a backup for Ortiz, Beltre or Youk. Why not since the Sox are going to eat most of his salary.
The betting line, however, is that he will be traded. Lowell has played sparingly at 1B & 3B so far. One report a week ago mentioned the Marlins may be interested in re-acquiring him. But all has been quiet since.
My opinion hasn't changed. I hope the Sox keep him.
