Big Papi is starting to hit. Ortiz swatted a few homers & singles in his last 2 or 3 Grapefruit League outings. According to ESPN Boston, one scout said that he's swinging free & easy.
Another year removed from his wrist injury, maybe Big Papi is ready to be Big Papi again. It would sure be a great help to a "Bay-less" offense & take the pressure off the rest of the lineup.
Going into his last contract year, Big Papi wants to stay around for several more campaigns. To do so, he needs to hit like it's 2004. If there is one guy who can do it, it's #34.
Ortiz has faced every kind of pressure in a Boston uniform. I think he can handle the pressure of a 2010 season where he needs to re-establish himself as a dominant force in the Red Sox middle.
