Kelly & Bonser Look Good

The Sox started their Grapefruit League action with 2 good performances by guys who may see some action at the beginning, middle or end of this season.

Boof Bonser, who hadn't thrown a pitch in over a year, completed a nice & easy 1-2-3 inning. Casey Kelly did the same in his start with a 10-pitch, 2-strikeout performance.

I know. It's Spring Training. It's college teams. It means nothing.

Not so fast! As a former pitcher, I can tell you that success is a great mental tool. Kelly now gets a taste of being in the majors with professional fielders behind him. Bonser gets to feel like his arm problems are fully over & he is 100% again. Those things are important to a pitcher.

It means nothing, but it was a nice start. Both Kelly & Bonser have momentum moving forward.
