How Good Will Ellsbury Be?

Jacoby Ellsbury hit 2 home runs yesterday against the Tampa Bay Rays in Spring Training. Last year he stole 70 bases, shattering the old mark by Tommy Harper. How will Ells perform in 2010?

Based upon experience you would think that Jacoby is just coming into his own. The move to LF should be no problem & may save him from injury without all those sprawling catches in CF. His combination of power & speed makes you think about comparisons to other leadoff men, like Grady Sizemore & Johnny Damon. It should be, & actually needs to be, a good year for Ells offensively as the Sox need better-than-average years from their starting 9 to offset the power outage from losing Bay & keeping an older Big Papi.

I look for a big year from Ells, now in uniform #2. He can steal a run for you in those tight games against good pitching. He can also go yard when you're not looking. (Plus my granddaughter thinks he's hot!)
