Sox Swept
It was a rough weekend in Texas as the Boston Red Sox lose 3 in a row to the Texas Rangers. The offense took the weekend off, producing only 4 runs in 3 games. What bothered me about yesterday's game was the first HR that Jon Lester gave up to Mitch Moreland on an 0-2 count. What happened to coming in high & tight out of the strike zone on 0-2 to set-up a cutter away on the next pitch? Lester did get 2 big outs on 3-2 pitches to Pierzinski & Anders, but old nemesis Nelson Cruz hit a 2-run shot to tie the game on his 3-2 pitch. Rangers eventually win 4-3 in 10. Offense starts at the leadoff spot & Ells has not been getting it done. He pulls ground balls to 1B or 2B in about 80% of his at bats. Let's start going with the pitch to left please. I look for the Sox to rebound at home against the Twins. Farrell is hoping Buck goes deep into the game tonight as the bullpen is spent & Bailey is unavailable.
