Red Sox Win 4th in a Row

Don't the Philadelphia Phillies look like a shadow of who & what they use to be? Ryan Howard leaves runners in scoring position with regularity. Doc Halladay is out. Chase Utley is out. Cole Hamels is having a down year after signing a big multi-year contract. Charlie Manuel's job is in question. And John Papelbon has only 9 saves since his team doesn't go into the 9th with many leads. Spot starter Alfredo Aceves pitched 6 innings of 1-run ball as the Sox cruised to a 9-3 victory on Memorial Day. Two first inning homers, one by Pedroia & one by Napoli, gave the Sox a 3-0 lead that they would never give up. It's hard not to notice the good job being done by Jose Iglesias at 3B in Will Middlebrooks absence. Iglesias is getting on base via walks, bunts, infield dribblers & a few solid hits to contribute offensively. His defense at 3B has been excellent for someone playing a new position. Middlebrooks may find it hard to get back into the lineup, a positive problem for John Farrell. At the very least Iglesias is enhancing his trade value. Dempster goes against Cliff Lee tonight. Let's go for 5 in a row!
