John Lackey - Another Good Game
Who is this new John Lackey? I guess surgery on his right arm agrees with him as Lackey pitched 7 innings of 1-run ball last night to lead the Sox over the Indians 8-2. This was Lackey's 2nd dominant start. Timing couldn't be better for Lackey to emerge as Ryan Dempster is in a mini funk & Felix Doubront is a 50-50 chance to pitch well or pitch badly. Reserve Mike Carp added a big 3-run homer in the 2nd to give the Sox a lead that they would never relinquish. Jacoby Ellsbury & Dustin Pedroia each added 2-run singles late in the game to expand the lead. Even crazy man Alfredo Aceves pitched a scoreless 9th. If the game does not get postponed by rain today, Jon Lester will have a chance to beat his ex-manager who once said that he thought of him as a son. It's certainly an interesting weekend with Tito back in town.
