Sox Win Again in Extras 3-2
Clay Buchholz goes 8 strong innings, his only blemish being an excuse-me 2-run homer to the #9 batter for the Twins. The bullpen mows down the Twins in the 9th & 10th. Jacoby Ellsbury made his 1-5 night count with an RBI single to tie the game 2-2. Johnny Gomes who is hitting a buck eight-five gets a productive sac fly in the top of the 10th to knock in the go-ahead run. Sox win 3-2. Good pitching helps you win tight games & that's the story from last night at Target Field in Minnesota. The Sox have won 3 in a row now & are back to their winning ways. I like the fact that Will Middlebrooks bunted to move runners over to 2nd & 3rd in the 10th. It turned out to be the right play as Pedroia scored the 3rd run. Little things can make the difference between a win & a loss. The Sox have their positive mojo going again. Translation - good team win.
