What's Up With Will Middlebrooks?

What has happened to Will Middlebrooks? Lately his play has been subpar on both ends of the stick. In the field he is making fielding & throwing errors, costly ones at times. At the plate he has no pitch selection & he seems fooled by every pitch thrown. He is swinging for a lot of balls outside of the strike zone which doesn't help him to get out of his current slump. Middlebrooks seems overmatched to be playing in the big leagues over the past few weeks. Maybe it's a sophomore jinx setting in. Or maybe it's time to try giving Middlebrooks a rest & play Mike Carp or Pedro Ciriaco at 3B for awhile. Middlebrooks doesn't seem close to being the guy he was last year before his wrist injury. Farrell will need to monitor his situation closely.
