Sox Bounce Back With 9-2 Win
No Pap last night. The Sox scored 4 runs in the first inning en route to a 9-2 win in Philly to split their home & home interleague series. Good spot start by Franklin Morales. Lots of hits & stolen bases (5) by Jacoby Ellsbury. Since his game-winning hit against Cleveland Ells has been on a tear with his offense & defense. His batting average is up to .270. And he has become a force at leadoff once again. For good measure Jonny Gomes hits a pinch hit home run & Big Papi lofted a nice high Philly fly ball to right that ended up in the bleacher seats. Just a good team win to turn around a 2-game losing streak. The Sox invade Gotham tonight for a 3-game set with the struggling Yankees who have suddenly hit a brick wall with 5 losses in a row. I'm hoping that the Yankees stay in a funk for 3 more games.
