Sox Win, Finally!

Jon Lester was good - again. The offense finally used their bats to beat David Price, last year's Cy Young Award winner. Sox get a much-needed win in Tampa Bay 9-2 last night. Stephen Drew had a big night, including a grand slam in the 8-run 3rd inning to put the game out of reach. Later, Will Middlebrooks took a nice, easy swing & put a ball into the bleachers in right field, a good sign for him. But for me it was Dustin Pedroia's single to right to score the first run in the 3rd that seemed to get things going for the offense. Having left so many RISP all week long, it was as if Petey's single said not tonight. And then the flood gates opened for 7 more runs. Felix Doubront gets the start in the finale, not Clay Buchholz. Maybe John Farrell listened to the guys on The Baseball Show last weekend when one said he needs to spread out Lester & Buchholz to make up for the #4 & #5 slots not performing. If Doubront is smart, he will make the most of rejoining the starting rotation with a good effort tonight. Just keep Longoria in the park & the rest of the lineup can be easy outs. A series win is certainly possible.
