Red Sox, Yankees Again

Who would have thought that the Red Sox & Yankees, version 2013, would be taking on a weekend series for first place in the AL East? None of the supposedly informed media picked the Red Sox or Yankees to finish higher than 3rd or 4th this year. The games are played by humans, not mathematical models. Just like Mother Nature you can't predict outcomes when it comes to players with any degree of certainty. Look at the pre-season favorite pick of the media - Toronto Blue Jays - now solidly in last place. I give the Red Sox &, yes, the Yankees kudos for beating the odds makers for the first third of the 2013 season. The Yankees have lost 5 in a row & may be hitting the wall with the likes of Overbay, Nix & others trying to play above average for an extended period of time. The Sox come into tonight's game winners of 5 out of their last 7. It should be the usual good series between two good teams. Give the edge to the Sox with Lester & Buck going.
