Pats, Red Sox Win

The New England Patriots outlasted the Oakland Raiders 16-9 in their home opener at Gillette. Brady & the offense did just enough. Big Vince pounced on a tipped ball in the 4th to seal the win. No shock & awe, but a win put the Pats in the tie for first in the AFC East with a 2-1 record. Meanwhile, the Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 behind the pitching of Joe Kelly. Mookie Betts had a leadoff homer & he looks comfortable in the leadoff spot. Both Betts & Holt give the Sox options at the top of the order for next year. Rusney contributed a hit to keep his solid debut going, along with stealing his first base. A good day all around New England.
