Pedroia Out for Season?
For a 2nd year in a row Dustin Pedroia's left wrist has been ailing. In 2013 he injured it in game 1 at Yankee Stadium, but he played through it for the entire year, including playoffs & World Series. A tough guy. Now we find out that surgery to correct the wrist in the off-season has not really corrected the problem fully & it flared up on him more lately than at other times during this regular season. Pedroia should be kept out for the remainder of this 'nothing-to-play-for" 3 week ending of the 2014 season. He should also get a proper diagnosis & treatment ASAP so he is ready to go for spring training of 2015. We are just lucky that the Sox are not in a pennant race & Pedroia was scratched. I have to think that, when healthy, Pedroia still has several more productive seasons left in him.
