What To Do With Middlebrooks?

A flash of power, including one 3 homerun game in Toronto. Then injuries. Then unable to get back on track offensively. Many, many strikeouts, not even hitting the ball. That kind of sums up the career of 25-year old Will Middlebrooks. What do the Sox do this off-season? Right now we hear that the plan for Middlebrooks is to play winter league ball to see if he can get his swing back before spring training. In the meantime, the Sox have to start considering other options at 3B. Should they package Middlebrooks in a deal for a pitcher or for Stanton & just let him go? Or do they invest in him for another year & hope that he regains his power stroke? Tough questions. Unfortunately for Will, his troubles started last New Years Eve when he & Jenny Dell came out & said that they were a couple. Dell promptly got dumped from NESN & Middlebrooks has never got on track in 2014. Two young careers heading downward at the same time. If I'm Ben & the Sox management think that Garin Cecchini can produce next year at the major league level, I guess I listen to offers on Middlebrooks. If not, I guess you keep him for another try. Unfortunately, there are no "do overs" in the big leagues. And Middlebrooks is running out of time.
