John Farrell Hired As Manager

It didn't take until November 1st as predicted. The extreme makeover in Boston continues as John Farrell gets a 3-year deal to be the new manager of the Red Sox. The Sox give up Mike Aviles & Chris Carpenter to the Blue Jays. It was obvious going back to last year that John Farrell made a big impression on management as someone who knew the lay of the land in Boston & could handle the heat. I wasn't for bringing back Farrell, but it's done & over so let's get behind him & see what he can do. He has to be an upgrade from Bobby V. And Farrell does know the AL East. He could be a comforting presence to Jon Lester & Clay Buchholz. Check the new manager item off your "to do" list, Ben, & let's keep the makeover going.

I too think they could've done better, but he is still several steps up from Bobby V.
