A's Finish Off A Great Season
The Oakland A's, the team with the lowest payroll in baseball, finished the season in 1st place & winners of the American League West crown. It's a great story & a credit to Billy Beane & his moneyball approach to rosters. The A's have to be sentimental favorites to go all the way once the playoffs start. As one reader commented, an A's & Nationals World Series would shock the established teams in MLB. No LA. No Boston. No Philly. Other than that team from New York, I'm OK with whomever wins the whole thing this year. The Cardinals & Braves are great stories. The Giants & Tigers are good stories too. And maybe the Rangers get their mojo back after a bad week. It's going to be a fun post-season. Just any team but the Yankees.
