Bobby Gone

Bobby V. will be collecting his paycheck from his living room next year. The Sox fired Valentine one day after the end of the regular season. Kudos to the front office for not dragging this out. An extreme makeover from top to bottom is needed for the Sox to contend again in the AL East where 3 teams finished the season with 90 or more wins. Bobby was not the whole problem, but he certainly was part of it. Put differently, he was not part of the solution. A manager in today's big league needs to be a psychologist, more than a strategist, & he needs to keep 25 guys ready to perform at their best everyday. Bobby missed that Manager 101 class at school. I always remember a line from Terry Francona. Tito said that you no longer treat players the way you would want to be treated - a mutual respect thing if you will. No, you treat them now the way THEY want to be treated. Isn't it so? OK, Ben. Job #1 is done & it was done in a speedy fashion. Time to move onto David Ortiz & Cody Ross now.
