Week of October 1st. Ben Cherington's daily planner or iPhone calendar should have an entry for Thursday or Friday that says fire Bobby Valentine. That would be job #1 of the off-season. Week of October 8th. Re-sign Cody Ross & offer David Ortiz arbitration or a 2-year deal where the 2nd year is a club option. Week of October 15th. Start interviews for new manager. There should be items in Ben's calendar for every week of the off-season as there are many changes that need to be made.
