The Sox lost 2 out of 3 in Detroit. The finale was 5-1 as the Sox offense couldn't break through - again - with a big hit when they needed it.
I believe that the Sox lost their opportunity to take this series in Game 2. They had plenty of scoring opportunities in extra innings, but couldn't push across a run. You sometimes get only one chance to win a series & the Sox didn't do it. We are back to 19-19 & .500 again.
Is anyone else feeling the pre-2004 symptoms with the Red Sox? The teams of old did enough to give you that flicker of hope, but ultimately they ended up on the short end of stick. I have that feeling about the current year so far.
It may be a bumpy ride in 2010 for Red Sox Nation.
