Is the Curse Back?

I heard a quote somewhere about war that goes as follows. Wars never end. They just take a break from time to time.

After last night's nightmare in New York I think the same can be said about the curse. Maybe it just took a break in 2004 & 2007.

Dice-K & the Sox begin the game by giving up 5 runs in the 1st. To the Sox credit they hit their way back into the game by clobbering 5 home runs. Going into the bottom of the 9th the Sox lead 9-7. Then the wheels fall off as Pap gives up not 1, but 2, 2-run homers. What could have been a great, come-from-behind win results in a heartbreaking loss 11-9.

It's deja vu all over again.

- It's Grady Little leaving Pedro Martinez in.

- It's Aaron Boone winning the ALCS in Game 7 off Tim Wakefield.

- It's Johnny Damon being taken off the field in a stretcher.

- It's Bill Lee being malled in fight at home plate.

Last night put me back to the future.

It will be a tough thing for Red Sox players to walk onto the field at Yankee Stadium tonight & put last night's fiasco behind them. It's tough for us fans as well.
