OK, I've been pretty down on the Red Sox lately - just like all of you. But we all need to give them some praise for last night's 9-3 win over the Yankees.
It was a raw, cold night. After being beaten-up badly the prior 2 nights, the Sox players could have wallowed in their misery & just rolled over. But they didn't. And we saw a spark of life. That spark still gives me hope that all is not lost with a 16-16 record after 6 weeks of the season.
Jon Lester was great through the first 7 innings. Jeremy Hermida with 3 RBI looks more & more like a future J.D. Drew replacement. Even Tim Wakefield came onto pitch a scoreless 9th.
I give the Red Sox team a lot of credit for last night's win. Nice effort when they could have mailed it in.
