There's not much to write about in a 10-3 loss to the Yankees. We got outhit & outpitched, period. The Celtics & Bruins also lost, so no joy in Boston last night.
The bright spot for me was watching the pre-game ceremony where the Red Sox kicked off their Run Home Program for soldiers returning from the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan. Many men & women experience post-traumatic stress disorders & the Sox are helping by letting soldiers know it is OK to ask for help.
In conjunction with Mass. General Hospital returning vets can seek out the treatment they need to get back to normalizing their lives at home. I have a good friend from the first Gulf War that suffers from PTSD. I'm sure many of you know a family member, friend or neighbor who could use some help with this disease as well.
We owe a lot to the sacrifices made by our military men & women, so let's support the Run Home Project. The Sox may have lost the game last night, but they hit a homer by helping the military with this project.
