Adrian Beltre went off in Tampa Bay last night -- 2 homers, a single, a triple, 6 RBI. Not a bad night's work.
Who would of "thunk" it that the Red Sox could go into Tampa Bay & sweep the Rays? 5 runs in the 9th last night added an exclamation point to their 3rd victory, 11-3, at the expense of Red Sox killer Matt Garza. (His goatee is ugly & has to go.) It was a total domination of the best team in baseball & much needed payback for the earlier 4-game sweep in Fenway.
With last night's win the Sox climb back into 3rd place ahead of the Blue Jays & are just 3 out in the loss column behind the Yankees. As several so-so teams play The Sox over the next 4 series (KC, Oakland, Baltimore, Cleveland) it's an opportunity for Boston to gain more ground on the Yankees & Rays.
May has been a great comeback month after laying an egg in April.
