Players Underperforming

I sometimes watch the Concast Sports Net baseball show on Saturday mornings. I caught a little bit today. Usually, it's 3 hours of commercials & 1 hour of actual baseball talk. But I did hear a point from Lou Merloni today that really made sense to me.

Lou simply said the Red Sox players are underperforming. Hence, the 11-12 start. On the flip side, Lou said if players were performing well & the record was still a poor 11-12, that would be a bigger cause for concern.

I'm with Lou on this one. If our players perform to this historical averages, we will be fine. It's just a downer to come out of the gate so slow in April. Usually we see this kind of slump after the All-Star break.
