Gary Carter Dead At 57

I turned 60 earlier this year. My daughter asked me if I felt any different. I said I feel like each day now is a bonus.

Hearing the news that Gary Carter passed away at 57 reminded me of that. Watching all the clips of his sports career, including the '86 World Series against the Red Sox, showed what a force Gary was on the baseball field.

Carter's passing brought up memories for me of Mike Flanagan's demise last year. Mike was only 59. It's hard to picture these guys who were so full of life & enthusiasm not to be with us any longer.

What's that t-shirt saying? Life is short, play hard. Unfortunately, sometimes it's true. Rest in peace, Gary Carter.

Watching espn at the gym this morning, and saw the Gary Carter news. Unfortunately throughout the course of my workout, I saw the ball go through Buckners legs 3times.
