Sox Get Chris Carpenter for Theo

The Red Sox completed a trade with the Chicago Cubs to end their compensation war of 4 months over the transfer of Theo Epstein.

Per the Sox website Chris Carpenter, 26, is power pitcher who may be useful to the Sox as another bullpen arm. The Sox will also get another player to be named later, as well as send a player to be named later to the Cubs. It's a 2-for-1 deal.

Bobby Jenks goes on the 60-day DL to make room for Carpenter on the 40-man roster. Not a good sign for Jenks. But I like the fact that the Sox got a young arm with potential.
