The Boston Red Sox & DH David Ortiz had a meeting of the minds just hours before his arbitration hearing. The Sox website says the club & slugger met at the midpoint for a 1-year, $14.575 million deal.
Good news for both sides. Big Papi could have gotten less via the arbitration hearing. And the Sox could have paid $2 million more.
Drama over for this year.

I'm glad he is still on the team, but I would have taken my chances with arbitration. They paid way too much.
