Tough Loss, But Not Fatal

Yes, last night's 1-0 loss to the O's was a momentum buster since the Sox were riding a 3-game sweep of the A's.  No, although I was upset like every fan, it is not a fatal blow IF the Red Sox bounce back & win the next 2 games of this series.  As I said yesterday, the Sox need to win 2 out of 3 & 3 out of 4 more often than not for the remainder of the season to reach 85 wins & a possible playoff spot.  Don't blame E-Rod as he shutout the O's through the first 6 innings.  A passed ball by Blake Swihart on a Matt Barnes pitch scored the only run of the game.  When your team scores no runs the margin for error is none.  This loss is squarely on the offense who may be without Hanley Ramirez for a few games due to a foul ball off of his knee.  The Sox can ill-afford to lose Hanley's bat since Ortiz, Napoli & Sandoval are all struggling.  Let's see what happens tonight & tomorrow.
