Offense Good, Offense Bad
Offense good - win 6-3. Offense bad - lose 2-0. That's the way the day went for the Red Sox as they split a twin bill with the Twinkies at Fenway Park. Both games featured excellent starting pitching by Eduardo Rodriguez & Rick Porcello. Rodriguez gave up 1 run in 7 innings & Porcello gave up 2 runs in 8 innings. Both efforts should have resulted in 2 W's. But the fickle Red Sox offense took the nightcap off & they were shutout. I see a lot of swings & misses by Sox batters on balls out of the strike zone. You can't be an effective hitter when you swing at balls & help the other pitcher out. And Hanley, please stop swinging at every 1st pitch you see. Every opposing pitcher knows that if I do. Pitching & defense are keeping the Red Sox in close games. Time for the offense to perform or time for more changes, like the recent signings of De Aza & Peguero.
