Red Sox 6, Phillies 2

Another nice win last night to capture the 1st series of the year.  Masterson seems like the same guy that pitched for Cleveland again - good for the most part, but always 1 bad inning.  Last night he stopped the damage at 2 runs in the 3rd after the Sox scored all of their 6 runs in the top of the inning.  A windswept fly ball to RF by X-man with the bases loaded was misplayed by Francoeur from a single into a bases-clearing triple.  That was the difference in the game, Francoeur on the wrong side of being the difference-maker this time.  The Phillies defense looked horrible.  If Ryan Howard can't hit, he is of no use to the Phils as his glove at 1B is awful.  It looks to be a long year for Philadelphia.  You can't argue about winning a series, but I think the Sox need to sweep some of these lower-tier teams to maximize every win for a chance at the playoffs.  That's my parting negative "Felger" comment of the day.
