Pitching???

Let's talk about the starting pitching of the Red Sox.  First time through the rotation things looked pretty good.  This 2nd time through has looked pretty bad, even ugly at times.  Buchholz, Masterson & Miley could not reach or pitch past the 5th inning.  Here's my thoughts.  It's early, only 9 games in the books out of 162.  No team is as good or as bad as they seem through 2 weeks.  Buck just didn't have it against the Yankees.  Masterson & Miley may have had opening game jitters in front of the Fenway crowd.  Or the Nats could have found their hitting shoes.  After all, they are a good team picked to go to the World Series by most prognosticators.  We need more time to judge how the pitching staff will shake out.  My definition of more time would be until the end of May or roughly 10 starts into the season.  By then Cherington, Farrell & the brass will have a more solid idea of what they need to do before the trade deadline at the end of July.  So be patient, hang tight with the current staff for now.
