Offense Producing Against Good Pitching
Average runs scored by the Red Sox per game is 6.22 through the early season, best in MLB. Who wouldn't want to pitch for this offense? Early on, it appears the Ben Cherington did fix the lackluster offense from 2014. Ramirez & Sandoval bolster the middle of the order around David Ortiz. Pedroia is healthy & hitting the ball with power again. Bogaerts is swinging free & easy. Nap is healthy also & he has just started to hit again. Mookie is a force at the top of the order & on the bases. And super subs Holt & Nava are contributing at the plate. It's a nice order. So far the Sox have beat good pitching -- Cole Hamels, Jordan Zimmermann & Stephen Strasburg to mention a few. I'm sure that the Sox lineup will come back to earth during the year, but the chances of 8 or 9 guys with quality bats all going cold at the same time is not a high percentage. This impressive offense has lived up to its billing.
