Nothing Like Opening Day
Other than the Cubs who lost 3-0 last night, 29 teams start today in first place. Opening Day is unique. If you haven't been to opening day, you have to go. Lots of buzz from reporters on the field, fans are buzzing in the stadium, players are pumped & ready to go. Sometimes it's easier to be a visiting club, like the Cardinals last night, because the home team has pressure to get off to a good start. Let's hope that that's true today as Clay Buchholz takes the mound this afternoon against Cole Hamels. Maybe Hamels will be pressing to impress the Sox, perhaps his next team. It would be nice to get a good start from Buck, some timely hitting from the new & improved offense, good defense & good work from the bullpen -- a recipe for a win anytime. Let's see if we can get this season off to a good start. Baseball is back & we're ready!
