Koji Closes Out Red Sox Win
It was nice to see the smiling, happy-go-lucky Koji Uehara back closing games for the Red Sox. Koji got his 1st save of the year yesterday in an 8-7 Red Sox win over an error-plagued Washington Nationals team. Ian Desmond seems to be in the middle of every big error early in the year for the Nats. Yesterday, with the scored tied 7-7 & the infield in, Desmond gets a grounder & goes to 1st instead of home, allowing the go-ahead run to score. It's not often a team can beat Jordan Zimmermann & Stephen Strasburg in back-to-back games. It's another series win for the Red Sox who have won all 3 series thus far in 2015. Wade Miley goes for the sweep against Gio Gonzalez this afternoon. Unfortunately, the injury bug is creeping up on the Red Sox as Bogaerts & Sandoval are dinged up for the big team & Rusney hurt his shoulder at AAA on a diving catch. Hopefully, none are long-term.
