A Series Win Via Shutdown Pitching

Yes, I called it on Twitter before the game that Rick Porcello would chew up the Jays offense last night & he did just that.  Sox win 4-1 limiting the Jays big hitters to just 3 hits.  Porcello pitched 7 strong, followed by Tazawa & Uehara to close it out.  If you can have a big win in April, this was one of them.  Hanley Ramirez backed up Porcello by hitting another bomb into the monster, his 10th homer of the month.  Whatever you're eating or drinking, Hanley, keep it up!  I predicted the Sox would go 11-11 in April & they finished 12-10, 1 game out of 1st place.  This pace would result in 88 wins which could be enough to win the East.  Starting pitching is a problem that Ben said he would look internally to fix first, but WEEI reports the Phillies are scouting the Sox farm teams which would lead you to believe that a Hamels deal is still in play.  Onto May which could be more of the same roller coaster ride.
