Spring Training Starts This Week

Even as another nor'easter takes aim on New England, this is the week that begins the official start of the 2015 baseball season. Pitchers & catchers report this week as ballparks in Florida & Arizona get underway with baseball. Lots of activity in the off-season led to many players changing teams. In Arizona I will get to see ex-Red Sox's like Will Middlebrooks, Rubby de la Rosa & Allen Webster. No doubt as training moves forward there will be many stories about the young & talented core of upcoming Sox pitchers -- Owens, Johnson, Barnes, Rodriguez & others. If the Phillies would ever accept a package of young pitchers & some extra outfielders for Cole Hamels, Ben would have struck a great deal. But take heart, New Englanders, spring training means that spring itself is around the corner. It has to stop snowing sometime. And this week is a reminder that spring will appear soon.
