Most everyone agrees that the pace of play changes announced yesterday are an OK first step to keeping more action on the field & less down time. My favorite is the batter keeping one foot in the box. That alone should speed up the game by 15 minutes per 9 innings. Get your sign & get back in the box. The rest of the changes regarding replay, down time between innings, etc. is all OK. The big stuff with come later about reducing the strike zone, no shifts & a pitch clock. You can expect push back from the players association on any of those changes. But these measures are a first step to speeding up the game.
