Next Cuban Up - Yoan Moncada

19 year old middle infielder, middle-of-the-order bat. Sound familiar Red Sox fan? Moncada sounds a lot like Xander Bogaerts to me. I would be surprised if the Red Sox win the bidding war for Yoan Moncada, simply because the Sox are loaded with position players in the infield & outfield. Where would he play? And isn't Bogaerts at 22 a much less expensive option? No doubt Moncada would need to spend time in the minors. Most scouts rate him a top 10 or a top 20 prospect. But he is just a prospect. Keep your money on this one, John Henry. Let another team pay the big salary & the equivalent in tax. One of these Cuban players is going to be a bust. I hope it's not Rusney! But the bust from Cuba could be this very young kid who has limited international play. Potential is a funny thing. Sometimes it is realized & sometimes not. I take a pass on Moncada.
