Nava Finally Gets Paid
In arbitration Daniel Nava & the Red Sox agreed to $1,850,000. Good for the guy that the Red Sox signed years ago for $1. A left-handed bat is something the Red Sox really need this year in their lineup as Panda & Big Papi are the only 2 everyday lefties in there now. Nava & Brock Holt will get playing time as subs here & there, so the Sox could get 3 or 4 lefties in there on occasion. But a crowded outfield with Ramirez, Castillo, Victorino, Betts & Craig will limit Nava & Holt cracking the lineup. Because of his lefty bat & reasonable salary I would look for the Sox to move Betts, Craig or Victorino in a trade before Nava. Congrats to Nava for finally getting paid!
