Nationals Get Scherzer

It costs the Nats $210,000,000 to acquire free agent Max Scherzer. His 7-year contract should loosen up the asking price for other Nationals pitchers Jordan Zimmermann &/or Doug Fister. The money is ridiculous, just ridiculous, especially since Scherzer turned down $144 million earlier last year from the Tigers. The Nationals will be favorites in the NL East & Washington will look to go further in the playoffs in 2015 & beyond. Look at it this way - at least he didn't go to the Yankees or another AL team. This makes the Lester deal look like nothing!
