Daniel Bard - Still Trying

Theo & the Cubs signed Daniel Bard to a minor league deal in 2015. Bard has not been an effective reliever for thge past several years now. Yet, that glimmer or small chance of returning to a premiere set-up man is enough to keep the Cubs interested. Theo & Jed remember the Bard of old who set down 8th inning batters with ease, kind of like Tazawa did in 2013. Then the Sox messed with him as a closer & a starter. That change for Bard started him down the path to ineffectiveness. One of his last outings in a Red Sox uniform was in Toronto where he hit & walked multiple batters in a row. Bard was just plain scary. However, hope sperings eternal when the boys of summer take the field in February. Maybe Bard will work his way back. It's a long shot!
