Baseball America Picks Sox #1

MLB Now discussed the Pecota predictions from Baseball America yesterday. In the AL East the Red Sox & Rays are expected to finish tied for 1st with 86 wins each. The panelists cited their exceptions to this prediction by saying that the Red Sox still need a true #1 ace to be considered a front-runner in the division & they didn't see how Tampa Bay would score enough runs to win that many games, even with a good pitching staff. Toronto was 3rd, followed by the Yankees & Orioles. It's hard to imagine the O's finishing last, but they have lost a lot of thump from their lineup & they need big comeback years from Witers, Davis & Machado. Interesting thoughts as Pecota picked 7 of the 10 playoff teams last year. Let's hope that they are right about the Sox.
