Shields Looking for Big Payday

According to my local paper James Shields is looking to sign a deal worth $110 million over 5 years. Supposedly, the Red Sox, Giants & Yankees are interested. Too rich for my blood! The 33-year old has several years of 200+ innings under his belt & he ran out of gas in the 2014 playoffs for the KC Royals. Big Game James is a thing of the past. I'd rather go for Cole Hamels at 31 & trade a few good prospects along with some surplus pieces. You have to think that Shields best years are behind him. Anything more than 3 years for a #2 starter at more than $20 mil per year is too much. Let the Yankees or Giants overpay.
