What Is Ben Thinking?

Articles on WEEI & the Red Sox website indicate that Ben Cherington has no plans to move Yoenis Cespedes. Yes, the Cuban outfielder has only 1 year left under his current contract. Yes, Cespedes has never played RF as expected. However, Ben says that there is a limited amount of legit power hitters in baseball & Cespedes is one of these few. In his mind power trumps everything else. I can't disagree. On starting pitching Ben expects that market to move slowly done this week & he expects deals to be done at the winter meetings. He expects to be in on conversations on all relevant starters - Lester, Shields, Scherzer, Cueto, et. al. Ben did confirm that just about every team has inquired about the Sox surplus of outfielders. Along with a surplus of pitching, Ben has several chips to use in any trade.
