MLB Network reported that Jordan Zimmermann of the Nationals is being made available for trade by Washington. Salary dump by the Nats. Hello, Red Sox! Go jump on this opportunity & get this guy! Zimmermann was 19-9 in 2013, 213 innings, 161 k's to 40 walks, 3.25 ERA. In 2014 he was 14-5, 199 innings, 182 k's to only 19 walks, 2.66 ERA. He makes $16.5 million next year which is much more do-able financially for the Sox than a Scherzer or a Hamels. At 28 years old this kid is coming into his own. Zimmerman is a free agent in 2016, but you get a chance to sign him long term &/or you get another year for your young pitchers to mature. He & Lester could be your Pedro & Schilling. your Lester & Lackey for the next 5 years. Go get him now, Ben!
