Chase Headley Versus Pablo Sandoval

IF & I say IF the Red Sox are in the market for a free agent 3B, I think Chase Headley is a better deal than Pablo Sandoval. Sandoval is coming off of a good playoff run & he will command 6 years & $100 million. Headley, on the other hand, is coming off a down year & he can probably be signed to a shorter term deal for much less money. Both are switch hitters. Headley is 30 while Sandoval is 28. The Panda looks about 48 though & his size is concerning - like a Prince Fielder. Personally, I think the Red Sox should use all of their resources to bring in 3 starting pitchers, not 2. I stated before that Chris Sale & Johnny Cueto wouldn't break the bank & the big money should go to re-signing Jon Lester. But let's see what Ben thinks. Managers meeting starts on Tuesday.
