Yoenis Again
Another late-inning HR by Yoenis Cespedes led the Sox to a 3-2 win in Cincinnati. Yoenis got buzzed high & tight by Jonathan Broxton on a pitch clocked at 95 mph & he then deposited the very next pitch 433 feet away to CF. That had to feel good, like a "take that Broxton" moment. The Sox are 4-3 on this road trip, despite a team batting average less than .200. Thanks to another great starting effort by Joe Kelly the Sox pitchers threw up zeros for 8 innings after the Reds scored 2 in the 1st. Kelly also got a hit & stole a base. This young rotation has had a turn & a half of excellent starts. Xander Bogaerts had 2 hits & drove in the 1st Red Sox run. Maybe he is starting to come out of it. No signs of life for Will Middlebrooks yet. He hit a long fly that had a chance to go out, but it stayed in the park for an out. Good team win in Cincy. Anthony Ranaudo gets his 2nd start tonight in place of a tired Brandon Workman.
