Tazawa Has Big Error
Junichi Tazawa hasn't been the same dependable guy out of the pen this year as he was last year. After the first 2 batters that he faced in the 8th I could see that he didn't have his good stuff, didn't have good control. Taz could have worked through the 8th by starting a 1-2-3 double play, but instead he misplayed the ball & 2 runs scored. It happens. Those runs sealed a win for the Angels 4-2 over the Red Sox. Brandon Workman had a nice comeback game after skipping a turn with arm fatigue. He deserved a better fate. Since the trading deadline the Red Sox are 8-8 in the month of August. Not bad for no Jon Lester & no John Lackey. For a team that has played below .500 most of the season you have to be encouraged by the young pitching staff that is throwing more good games than bad. This will be a busy hot stove for Ben & company as they figure out who's in & who's out for 2015. The next 6 weeks will have a lot to do with both sides of the question.
