Superstitions
I turned on the Red Sox game yesterday in my office. I had no sooner turned it on when Yoenis Cespedes hit his 3-run homer to give the Sox a 3-0 lead in the 8th. For some reason I was superstitious about leaving the office as if my moving would jinx the chances of the Red Sox winning. So I kept playing the same computer game in the office until the game was over. Red Sox won 3-1. Remember Wade Boggs use to eat chicken before every game. Some players shave, don't shave, pull up their pants a certain height, have a favorite bat or glove, sit a certain place in the dugout or bullpen, etc. etc. Superstitions abound in baseball & I was just reminded of it yesterday. There was a beer commercial last year for football that had a team's fans turn their beer bottles a certain way during a field goal attempt. The caption was it's only weird if it doesn't work. Yesterday my end result was a win. Nuf ced!
